Taiwan's National Health Insurance(NHI) system is lauded internationally, winning praise even from Paul Krugman，Nobel prize laurate in economics.
With a very low monthly payment, the public can enjoy the services from the NHI network. Only a small copayment is required when receiving medical treatment,and most of the medical expenses incurred are covered by the NHI.
NHI is also praised for its convenience, with 92.8% of the medical institutions in Taiwan affiliated to it. Many Taiwanese living abroad love to come back to Taiwan to take advantage of this convenient and inexpensive system.
台灣的全民健保，讓諾貝爾獎經濟得主也稱讚，因為民眾平均每月繳交新台幣數百元至幾千元，即可享有完整的醫療服務。
民眾看病，只要付「部分負擔」，其他均由健保買單，而且全台百分之九十二點八的醫療院所均為健保特約，民眾就醫非常方便，而且幾乎沒什麼限制。甚至有長住歐美的人每年專程回台復保、看病，因為比起來，台灣健保是便宜吃到飽。
